Discovering gourmets in Apulia

The 5 seas Cooking Course – International tastes competition is, chronologically speaking, only the last cooking appointment, organized and directed by “Apulian Club” Gourmets. Five seas for five continents hosted the competition through an “Experiential Laboratory” that led the participants to the most beautiful coasts of the world from the Baltic Sea to the Caribbean Sea, to the Mediterranean, Arabic and Japanese waters with a view to browse through original, refined, recipes, masterly reassessed with our local cuisine influences. Every lesson ends with the most awaited moment: when our five senses are cited to taste, and the laid tables make room for dialogues, comments and “convivium”.

The meetings, held by professional chefs and nutritional experts have the aim to highlight our local cuisine, as in the case of “Tipicità in chiave originale emozionale e golosa” (Gluttonous, emotional and original specialties), or to wake up our good and healthy eating culture as in the course of Mediterranean Cuisine “Sapori lontani a tavola” (Far away tastes on the table) in which the American cardiologist Ancel Keys theories posing the basis for the Mediterranean diet are accented. The cooking course, and the future ones organized by the “Apulian Club Buongustai” association, have as their main theme a cuisine of meeting, integration and fusion of tastes, a healthy and wisely thought way of cooking. This gourmets academy is a laboratory of ideas always in turnmoil; this year the Club ideated a new project: “Chef in Casa” (Chef in your house) in order to organize a typical Apulian Club’s principal aim is the promotion of our territory, of our Apulian tradition and handing down to our participants our chef’s abilities.
